Wayne Soini, a lifelong history buff, holds a Master’s degree in History from the University of Massachusetts Boston. Prior to publishing two historical novels, Nixon in Love and Germany Surrenders! in 2015, Soini coauthored a local sports history book with Robert Fuchs, Judge Fuchs and the Boston Braves, (McFarland, 1998), Gloucester’s Sea Serpent (History Press, 2010) and Porter’s Secret; Fitz John Porter’s Monument Decoded, (Peter Randall, 2011).
In other non-fiction, Soini recently helped research Charles B. Strozier’s Your Friend Forever, A. Lincoln (Columbia University Press, 2016). In fiction, Soini published a historical novel about the Congressmen’s duel of 1838, The Duel, (based on the duel between Jonathan Cilley of Maine and William Graves of Kentucky), which will be followed this year by a trilogy about young man Abraham Lincoln in 1830-31, Deep Snow, High Water and Full Heart.
